Smarter spaces create smarter robots. A component on the Auki SDK is a network-exposed capability — a sensor, an effector, a voxelizer. Typed inputs, typed outputs, from any peer. We've had robots send point clouds to a laptop in the lab and had that peer build the map. You can change which component talks to which component at runtime. An AI agent can do it too.
Milestone this week: two robots sent point clouds to a third peer — Nils's laptop — which built a unified scene. The robots consumed that scene back in real time. Shared understanding of the whole space, fed into collision avoidance.
Ask a robot to point at something. The arm aborts if another robot sees a collision the first one can't. Step in front of the arm; a robot looking the other way stops it.
Then: I forgot a coffee cup near robot one. If robot one can see it, ask robot two to point at it. Robot two has no shot at seeing the cup. It still points.
That's collaborative proprioception — the sense that lets you touch your nose with your eyes closed, except across robots. Hand something off outside both fields of view. The other robot can still grab it.
Tracy showed the runtime UI. Plug components into each other live. Folderize a unit of capability. Canvases: pull in the components you care about and wire them. Charlie's trick.
Charlie also took volumetric prompting further. Two weeks ago: different rules in different rooms — don't touch the office table; clean the kitchen table. Now it's on the component system. Listen to the robot's position. Enter this volume, camera off. It works.
Privacy is why. Homes will want it. Businesses will want it. Governments will want it. Programmatic rules inside a domain.
Charlie's Broomba: little green square next to the red one. Cross into the purple volume and the camera freezes — no new frames, head off. Come out the other side, camera back on. Glasses off in the bathroom. Speed limits in one part of the store.
Auki is making the physical world accessible to AI by building the real world web: a way for robots and digital devices like smart glasses and phones to browse, navigate, and search physical locations.
70% of the world economy is still tied to physical locations and labor, so making the physical world accessible to AI represents a 3X increase in the TAM of AI in general. Auki's goal is to become the decentralized nervous system of AI in the physical world, providing collaborative spatial reasoning for the next 100bn devices on Earth and beyond.
